Manufactured in very small numbers in New York City in 1948, the Bungay High-Speed 600 was the last of the various attempts made during the 1940's to come up with an FRV racing engine that could compete with such RRV powerhouses as the Dooling 61 and McCoy 60 Series 20. Although a very fine engine, the Bungay fell somewhat short, attracting little market attention. It was only offered for a few months in 1948, hence being an extremely rare engine today. The illustrated example is a replica commissioned by Woody Bartelt and made in Ukraine to a very high standard. An in-depth article on this very individualistic engine may be found elsewhere on this web-site.
