The beautiful little Schnuerle-ported 0.33 cc PB .33 diesel was made in very small numbers by Gordon Burford’s son Peter Burford of Australia in 2004. It was a superbly-crafted engine having an excellent performance for a diesel of its displacement. Unfortunately, the uncompromising quality of its construction dictated a very high price for such a small diesel. As a result, it failed to attract its due share of market interest, hence being withdrawn after only perhaps 150 examples had been constructed. On merit, it deserved a better fate! It is a highly desirable collectible today.
