The Feeney four-stroke spark ignition engines from Chicago, Illinois appeared on the US market in 1940-41 during the period 1930 – 1975 when two-stroke powerplants held almost undisputed sway in the power aeromodelling world. Along with a number of counterparts from England, these engines were significant insofar as they kept the four-stroke flag flying during the four-decade period of two-stroke domination. In doing so, they paved the way for the Japanese-initiated appearance of later-generation glow-plug four-strokes from 1974 onwards. A detailed article covering the Feeney engines may be found elsewhere on this website.
