MECA Swap Sheet & Bulletin

Model Engine Collectors Association (MECA)

Established in 1960, MECA is an organization for individuals who are interested in collecting, restoring and researching the model engines of yesteryear. It provides an avenue for such individuals to maintain contact with others who share their interest and to buy and sell miniature engines, cars, boats, kits and related items through the MECA Swap Sheet, Bulletin and Collectos.

Perhaps more significantly, MECA provides an unsurpassed opportunity to make contact with and learn from other members with like interests. In some ways, this opportunity to build friendships and expand knowledge is the prime benefit of belonging to MECA. On-line trading venues like eBay do nothing to promote direct communication between like-minded individuals.

Membership in MECA provides access to the organization’s Swap Sheet and Bulletin. The MECA Swap Sheet is published quarterly on-line along with the MECA Bulletin – the two documents can run to 60 pages in total. The Swap Sheet lists engines and parts either offered for sale by members or required by members for restoration purposes. The Bulletin includes organizational information along with articles from members focusing on various aspects of the engine collecting hobby, very much including the engines themselves. Anyone interested in these little mechanical marvels will find something of interest in each issue.

Anyone having a sincere interest in model engines is bound to benefit from membership in MECA. As a long-time member myself, I can personally attest to that!
