Speed Demon 30

A 4.85 cc (0.296 cuin.) displacement barstock diesel made in relatively small numbers (around 500 in total) in Long Island, New York, USA for less than a year beginning in late 1947. Features variable compression by moving liner rather than the more famiiiar contra-piston arrangement. Very well made indeed, and a fine runner, but extremely heavy and bulky for the power that it develops. For the full Speed Demon story, see my detailed article to be found elsewhere on this website.
