The Super Tigre G.20 V 2.5 cc glowplug motor appeared in 1957 as a replacement for the very successful Super Tigre G.20 S model of 1955. Like its predecessor, it was a twin ball-race crankshaft front rotary valve unit featuring cross-flow loop scavenging. It was actually little changed externally from the earlier model.
The G.20 V was an excellent competition powerplant - a hybrid "special" based on this design won the speed class at the 1959 Criterium of Aces meeting. However, its appearance was somewhat overshadowed by the emergence first of the MVVS 2.5R-58 model and then of the MOKI S-1 which dominated the late 1950's control line speed competitions. The G.20 V was finally replaced in 1960 by the Super Tigre G.20/15V "Jubilee" model with its radical baffle-less piston.
